A service should not be a hobby.

You can’t give your clients new business if you are exhausted. This can lead to cash flow problems.
Avoid these terrible situations by scheduling your work hours. Creative people know the many advantages of taking time off.
3. Create a list of your goals
You can strengthen your business-centric mindset and write down your professional goals in an easy-to-remember document you keep close to your office.
You can add items to digital files from your computer desktop. Your clients and you will both benefit from these items.
These tools are especially useful for those who have to make difficult decisions.
You might have to say “no” from time to time.
4. Protect your time
Many service providers work long hours and claim it’s not worth it.
Don’t fall into the trap of burnout.
It is possible to live a creative and productive life and learn from tried-and-true practices such as designated office hours.
Take some time to:

You must also establish clear priorities, just like your goals. If the activities fit into your work or personal schedules, you should agree to them.
5. Find the best freelance writing opportunities to make money
Marketing your company takes time.
Freelancers often get caught in the “feast or famine” cycle. They have too many clients and not enough time to market.
If you only serve existing clients, you won’t get any new clients.
It can seem overwhelming to turn down additional work but you need to make time for your marketing. This is an important step in building a sustainable freelance writing business.
6. Be friendly
The non-business side of the equation will continue to grow if you don’t agree with it.
You can still maintain friendly, professional relationships with clients without becoming “friend territory”.
I do not believe that clients and friends can develop naturally.
But, having an “I’m friends with all my clients” attitude doesn’t allow you to set boundaries and take care of your business as well as your clients.
7. Create a simple impression with your initial impression
Complex solutions can turn off prospects.
When you present your offer, it shows you are results-oriented.

A poorly-organized business will draw more dramatic or chaotic people.
8. The terms of service
Terms and conditions of service agreements are a great way for you to stay in the “friendly, but not friends” zone.
While it might seem dull, you can still use your imagination and create great working relationships.

Provide answers to frequently asked questions and describe customer service processes.

You may have a payment schedule and policy in your terms of service.
There are no rules regarding getting paid.
Many freelance writers ask for half the upfront payment.
- The writer will invoice the amount owed if everything goes according to plan.
- The writer will invoice the client for any additional work requested by the client.

They may not realize they are asking too much or causing aggravation. Because they might not mean to harm anyone, I use the term “innocently”.

11. Archive and label your emails
Everyone will have their ways of staying organized. However, one thing unites us all: email.
I can manage my inbox without any complicated or rigid system. Gmail offers two key features: archives and labels.
If you don’t have Gmail, you can still use it.
