Let’s begin.

These are the top Google Search Console features that can improve your SEO.

1: Identify search queries that generate impressions but few clicks

Click on the “Performance” section, then click on the “Queries tab. As shown in the below image. This tab will show you all search queries for which your site ranks.

Filter the queries that get high clicks but low impressions.

Export the report to Excel.

These queries offer low-hanging potential to increase organic traffic to your site.

To identify the page ranking for these queries, click on Pages. To improve relevancy, you can add queries to the page’s text. Do not repeat the same phrases. Use unique and LSI variations that are relevant to the matching queries.

This will improve the content of your landing page target and increase relevancy for the keywords ranking.

2: More Keyword Ideas for Your Target Landing Pages

Click on “Performance” and choose the desired date range. Next, click on “New” and choose “Page”.

Enter any URL for your website landing pages that you wish to increase the number of keywords.

You can also see clicks, impressions, and average positions in addition to keywords.

These are great keyword opportunities that have yet to be discovered. These keywords can be added to your SEO report so you can optimize your page accordingly.

3: Audit Your Website For Core Web Vitals Issues

Google launched Page Update in November 2020.

The Core Web Vitals was a major component of the algorithm. This collection of metrics is used to speed up.

Core Web Vitals is a ranking element because it directly impacts the user experience.

Webmasters must fix all Core Web Vitals problems on their site.

Each URL can be checked automatically. Google Search console runs Core Web Vital tests for each URL and generates reports for desktop and mobile.

Under “Experience”, visit “Core Web Vitals”. You will find results for desktop and mobile.

Click on “Open Report” to view all pages with different ratings, such as Poor, Needs Improvement, or Good.

Scroll down to see the Core Web Vitals issue that you have on your website.

In our case, CLS (Cumulative Layout shift) is more than 0.25. You can also see how many URLs have been affected by CLS.

Click on the issue to view more information, such as affected URLs or average CLS score.

To view all similar URLs or group URLs, you can click on an example URL.

After you’ve fixed this issue, click the “Validate Fix” button to tell Google that the issue has been resolved.

You can also use Google’s tools such as PageSpeed Intelligences to analyze the Core Web Vitals performance on your site. This tool will allow you to identify the issues that are causing poor page performance. To improve your ranking on SERP, you can take the necessary actions.

4: Search for Question Keywords

29% of Users’ queries that trigger featured snippets include question keywords such as why, how, or which.

Click on “Performance”, click on “New”, and then select your query.

You can find keywords that include common question phrases such as:

  • “How to”
  • “What is”
  • “Why”
  • “When”

Tip Google recently added a new feature to its Search Console Performance report, the “Custom (regex),” filter. It allows you to find multiple question phrases in bulk when searching for question-based queries. To find tons of questions, you can use the expression below.

This custom expression allows you to find thousands of questions-based queries you can use in content.

5: Compare Performance

To find ways to improve your website’s performance, you can periodically compare it.

You can, for example, check out which URLs and keywords are losing their rank on SERP.

Click the “Performance” tab to select a period of comparisons like the past 7 days or 28 days.

Click on impression, total click, average CTR, and position to see the entire report. The chart shows a comparison between these metrics.

Scroll down to view the details of different metrics such as queries, pages and countries, devices, search appearance, and search appearance.

This hack can be used to find out which keywords or search queries are causing your site to lose ranking.

You can also check out which pages are losing ranking or which countries are experiencing a decrease in user visits.

Optimize the pages using fewer clicks. You can also acquire high-authority links to regain lost rankings.

6: Verify Website Index Coverage

This is an essential Google search console feature every webmaster should utilize.

You can view all index coverage issues by visiting the “Coverage” section under “Index”.

Scroll down to the report to see details of errors, such as 5xx,404, or URLs blocked by robots.txt.

Click on an error to see all URLs affected.

These errors can be fixed to increase traffic to your site and conversion.

After you have fixed all errors on your site, click the button to request validation.
