Can it be done first?
Artificial Intelligence has enormous potential for businesses of all sizes. PwC estimates that AI will add 15.7 trillion dollars to the global economy between 2030 and 2050. It is impossible to ignore this, whether you run a small or large business. Many people, from small business owners to corporate executives, have little or no knowledge of building AI applications.
But we cannot ignore the technology under the hood. Proper AI systems need extensive skills not only in data sciences but also in software engineering and cloud computing. There is good news, however: Some companies have discovered that much of the technology can be easily adapted to a non-technical user interface.
We would like to show you what’s already possible and how this can be achieved, without all the technical jargon that surrounds it.
AI models can be built without knowing how to code
AI is already used by most of us every day. It doesn’t matter if it’s a newsfeed or Face ID on your phone, there is a certain amount of intelligence. is still a paper-based process (or PowerPoint slide) even though we’re all used to this type of interaction.
Websites could also be visited before anyone could build their website. Anyone can create a website today without knowing a single line of code. Users can find design templates and guidelines from companies like Wix Jimdo and WordPress. Instead of writing code people must move boxes around, insert images, and write text.
The companies mentioned above have allowed people to take advantage of the full technology potential without extensive technical expertise. The building of websites has become accessible to everyone. Local artisans have online shops and small hairdressers offer online bookings.
Artificial Intelligence is no different from websites. Specialized firms let people build AI without code, similar to website builders.
What was once a niche for software developers and enthusiasts is now becoming mainstream. In the same way that not all sites are built using website builders, neither do we claim that AI can be created without code. We are willing to try it!
You can either dive into our platform right away or start by diving deeper. For the latter, you can start with these three steps.
1. Prioritize AI use cases
The hardest part of starting anything is usually getting started.
Start by brainstorming the processes that are relevant to your business. You should write down all the thoughts that come to mind. Do not think about complexity just yet!
Identify the processes that are suitable for AI. The process must meet the three criteria below:
#1 The task is repetitive. You should use AI for tedious daily tasks and not to discover a new strategic direction.
You don’t need AI for tasks that can be described using logical rules.
A skilled person can decide in just a few moments. AI excels at automating clear inputs and outputs. Don’t automate the task if a human expert needs to consider each decision carefully.
A process that meets all three criteria can be automated by AI. If you’d like a detailed guide on how to identify processes that AI could automate, then we have a separate piece.
Prioritize your list of appropriate use cases. Consider two factors: importance, and complexity. Start with something simple enough. Start with the easiest-to-implement process that is the most beneficial.
Now comes the implementation. Your action plan will look like this.
- Create a first solution to showcase.
- Ask your colleagues for feedback (what worked, what didn’t)
- Your boss and employees. Your boss and your employees).
- Continue to work on the next AI project and gradually increase the complexity of the process.
2. Start a pilot project
You can start using AI right now – without any prior knowledge of the technology, or having to create your 2030 AI strategy for your business.
Start by building your first project. The most difficult and important part is the implementation. It takes passion and persistence to create your first AI model, even without code.
It will also help you learn as much information as possible in the least amount of time. You, your boss, and most importantly your company need this.
Start with the most important use case on your shortlisted list. This is an easy-to-implement process, which is appropriate for AI, with a high value to your business.
Look for AI builders who can help you build a custom AI without a code solution for this particular use case. These firms allow you to implement your ideas without needing any technical knowledge. You can usually find articles or videos to help you with your needs.
In our blog, you will find a guideline that shows you how to build a first image classifier without coding and in no time.
Soon you will have your first results. It is important to continue.
3. Repeat the process of learning and repetition
You should take your findings and learn from them. Then, repeat the process with a different approach. Consider the following questions.
- What were the main obstacles you faced? What were your main obstacles?
- What were the key stakeholders’ opinions (e.g., your boss and employees)? What did your boss and your employees think of the entire process? Highlight the positive aspects and work to improve the negative ones in your next cycle of implementation.
- What resources will you need to better implement AI in the future?
These insights are essential when attempting to implement a project without having a background in technology.
Continue with the next project from your prioritized list of use cases. This may be a more complex process, but it will also add more value.
You’ll soon discover how far you can go in the world of AI without having to write a single line.
Here’s a summary of the main points in this article.
- It is not necessary to be a coder to create an AI model. Some companies offer custom AI models, similar to website builders.
- Start a pilot project today. Spend your time building a prototype, not learning programming languages or formulating your AI strategy.
- Repeat as many times as you can. You can learn the most information in the least amount of time by doing this.
- Increase the scope of AI projects gradually. You’ll soon discover that you can leverage AI for your business without having to write a single-line code!
