Entrepreneurs often hire designers to design their business websites or mobile apps. UX is crucial for success. It may be difficult for them to know how to ensure their website uses the most effective tools, methods, frameworks, and techniques, given their limited knowledge of UX. Although a few hours of training online won’t make you a professional, you can still take many courses online to expand your knowledge. These concepts will help you to recognize what you already know in UX, and be able to communicate it to designers.

Springboard User Experience Design

Springboard is an online platform that offers mentored courses in many fields, including technology. Springboard is based on the belief that learning is an investment in your life that can be repaid over time. Springboard offers education via a mentor model. This means that you can take classes online at your own pace and receive guidance from an expert in the subject area. Springboard currently holds a 4.83 rating out of 5 stars according to 92 reviews.

Julia Debari is the Springboard User experience designer and also teaches UX design. This course is not only about the technical aspects of UX, but also dives into how customers interact with a product or experience. This course is not only for designers and engineers but also for product managers and entrepreneurs. It teaches fundamentals and best practices, without focusing on how to use particular tools.

This course lasts just over 62 minutes and includes text, videos, and other resources to help newbies grasp UX design.

UX Tree

UX Tree, a video-based learning platform that focuses solely on UX design, is available. You can choose from a variety of courses, including those that focus on basic principles and advanced applications.

UX Design for Beginners teaches the basics of design from a human-centered viewpoint. Interviews with UX professionals have included as well as a guide for UX designers. The course is designed for beginners and does not cover the technical details. Instead, the focus is on helping you understand the basics of UX design so that you can apply it to real-world situations.

There are many benefits to learning beyond the basics. Even if you don’t use the UX tools or information, understanding the basics of designing user experiences can help you to understand the challenges and skills required to create what you want. UX Tree offers courses in Android Studio, Designing and Prototyping with Apple Watch, and Prototyping iOS Apps using XCode. A quick course will help you understand the limitations and strengths of these tools for creating the user experience.

The Design Thinking Workshop teaches you how to tap into your creativity and design better solutions. This course is not just for engineers and designers, but everyone who wants to find creative solutions to difficult problems. This course provides resources and information to help you learn more about improving your design thinking.

UI Breakfast

Jane Portman, a Russian independent UX/UX consultant, presents UI Breakfast. It helps you to gain a solid understanding of UX design. This website offers many free resources. It is based on Jane Portman’s popular blog and podcast, which she created to help people solve real-world UX design problems.

The 1-Hour UI Audit course consists of three emails each with 20 minutes of material. The quick course is designed to be eaten with breakfast. It walks users through the process of identifying design issues and finding solutions.

The first module, “Define Your Strategy”, is titled and assists users in defining their audience. This is a crucial step towards improving UX design. Learn how to define your UX goals, tasks, and objects in a way that addresses your UX problems.

The second module, Audit Key Screens in Your Web App, identifies the key screens and gives a checklist of usability for each screen. Find out the four essential components of the ideal screen and how to identify and address the most difficult UX issues with each.

The last module, “Plan for Improvements,” allows the user to plan for UX improvement and identify the next steps to improve the experience for users.

Portman does a great job of giving you a way to evaluate your UX and identify areas for improvement.

Introduction to Human-Computer Interaction

Scott Klemmer is a professor at UC San Diego in Cognitive Science and Computer Science & Engineering. Klemmer is a co-founder and speaker at Design Lab. He has also given a popular TED talk, Postcards from the Future.

Klemmer presented an interesting course, Introduction to Human-Computer Interaction. It is now available through Coursera for a nominal charge. Stanford University has made the same course free via their OpenClassroom website. Although this course is an introductory one, it is easy to follow. Klemmer, however, presents advanced concepts and strategies that can be used in UX design.

This course includes 43 videos and guides users through a project that demonstrates how to use the principles in practice. This course covers user-centered design. It explains the basics of designing with people and outlines goals and prototyping. Klemmer explains more about brainstorming and novelty versus conformity in the section on prototyping. One section is dedicated to learning how to assess designs, while another is devoted exclusively to conducting user studies in order to collect data from users about their experiences with the design.

Although this course might go further than you want in terms of UX Design fundamentals, Klemmer is an excellent communicator and teacher and will not leave you feeling excluded from the discussion. You will leave with a better appreciation of UX design and a deeper understanding than most courses.

Fundamentals Remain, and Tools are changing.

There are many approaches to UX design. However, the basic principles are the same. Today’s tools for UX design are very different from those available ten years ago. And they will likely be quite different in the future.

Augmented reality (AR), which is a key factor in users’ interactions with their environment, is expected to be a significant factor. Apple’s advancements in this area likely indicate that it will have a major impact on UX design. This may seem like a gimmick of game technology, but the potential for business productivity is unimaginable.

No matter what the future holds, the fundamentals of understanding the user’s interaction with your product, how you can prototype to get feedback, and how to present information in a way that is both efficient and intuitive for the user will not change. These fundamentals will help you be more prepared for the direction that technology goes in the future.
