You can easily scale and resize your logo by knowing how to prepare different versions for different media. This will make your logo last a long time. The logo will automatically be sized for social media, print, and websites.

  • The resolution refers to the number of pixels on your screen. It can be measured in both width and height. For example, 500×500 pixels.
  • Bytes refer to the file size. You can measure them in megabytes or gigabytes.

  • Hyperlink home – Link your logo to your homepage to increase user experience
  • You can use your logo anywhere: While the header and favicon are the most common elements on a website’s homepage, you may also include your logo in the footer. It can also be embedded into buttons, icons, or product pages.

Logos for websites can be any size. Website logos can be any size. However, web pages should not exceed 250×150 pixels.

Email signatures

Include your logo in your email signature. This will make you appear professional and strengthen your branding efforts at all touchpoints.

Email signatures can be of any size when communicating with clients via email. It is recommended that the logo image file does not exceed 320 pixels x 70-100 pixels.

PNG files with a size of less than 10KB are also an option. This will ensure that your logo looks great on mobile devices.

Social media logo sizes

Every social media platform has an avatar picture. Optimizing the size of your logo on each platform will make it stand out.

Pay attention to the way your logo looks on social media. A monogram version of a logo that has a wordmark might be a good idea.

Ideal file type: PNG

Your profile picture on Facebook will be displayed at 170×170 pixels on your computer page, and 128×128 pixels on smartphones.

Instagram

Profile photo: 110×110 px

Ideal file type: JPEG

It is important to note that Instagram converts all files to JPEG. If your logo contains elements that can be cropped, you might consider using an icon or monogram version.

LinkedIn

Profile picture: 400 x 400 px

Background picture: 1584×396 px

TikTok allows you to upload a profile picture. If your profile contains a video or GIF, it will not show up.

YouTube

Channel profile picture: 800 x 800 px

Printing logo sizes

Your logo should look professional on all things, from packaging and business cards to advertising and merchandise.     

An SVG File is the best for printing your logo. A billboard or magazine publication should have a different quality than a magazine.

Most professional printers will work with you to adjust the file or resize it. Vector files are essential because they allow you to format each space differently.

While your printing needs will differ, these guidelines can help you keep track of the most common logo sizes:

Branded merchandise

With a card maker, you can make your business cards or merchandise. Consider the area.

These are examples of standard sizes for print.

  • American Standard Standard Business Card: 3.5 inches by 2 inches
  • Mugs: Standard 11 oz mug: 7.5 in x 3 in.
  • Hats – Hat sizes, styles, and types can vary so it’s a good idea for a logo to be around 3-3.5 inches in width.
  • T-shirts: The maximum size for the printing area is 15×15. A logo can also be printed on chest pockets. It should be approximately 4 3/8 by 5 3/8 inches.
  • Tote Bags: The ideal area to print on a standard bag is approximately 14.x16 inches. Sizes may vary depending on the bag.
  • Letterheads: A4 (most common letterhead size) 210 mm x 297 mm.
  • Standard letter size (US), 8.5 in x 11.
  • Envelopes Standard Business Size: #10 – 4 1/8″ x 9 1/2 In.
