It can be hard to find time for creativity, but charging for creative work money equals time

Smart working is key if you’re a single-person show host. Making more money is my business.

Anyone who knows me well will see that I am obsessed with optimizing everything.

This article concerns my optimization freak flag.

Let’s start with WHOAA.

The WHOAA Effect: What happens when you automate your daily activities?

Setting up automation and optimizing processes is not difficult.

It is hard work. When I create a Standard Operating Procedure, for example, I have to nail myself to the chair to do it. )

Ricardo Bueno, Follow-Up Boss, said to me, “Focus on only $1,000/hour work, then find a way to automate, delegate, or eliminate the rest.” “

WHOAA is here for you.

WHOAA stands to Work Hard Once and Automate.

1. Automate your schedule

You should pay attention to when you are most productive. These hours should be used to accomplish your highest-value work.

I don’t go to meetings in the mornings. I use this time for money-making projects.

2. Automate your daily decisions

Use part of your weekend to plan what you will wear, eat, and do for the next week.

Example: My week is split into two parts. On Sunday night, I go through my clothes and decide which pieces I want to use for both my “on-camera” and “desk work”. This makes it easy to get dressed quickly in the morning.

3. Automate your writing time

Practice your craft frequently to improve it. Picasso understood that. Write every single day.

Example: The interface at 750words.com will be updated when you have reached your daily 750 words. This causes confetti to appear all over the page.

4. Automate your food

Don’t waste time trying to decide what to eat. It is possible to eat the same food every day, with slight changes.

Example: It’s summer here in the U.S. Every day, I make a large salad for lunch.

5. Automate your breaks

It is impossible to produce high-quality work if you don’t create content each hour. Take breaks throughout the day to ensure your mental health.

Example. I like mornings so I wake up and don my pajamas until 11:00. After that, I take a break and change into my morning clothes before getting ready for my afternoon meetings.

6. Embrace SOPs

Take note of repetitive tasks and make an SOP (Standard Operating Procedure). These documents will help you scale your business.

Example: My business has grown significantly from my humble beginnings. Our team has documentation that describes how we will perform our jobs if one of our members leaves.

Simple, low-tech optimizations to make your life easier

These optimizations can be more complex than the ones we’ve just covered. You probably already have the technology to do them.

7. Inbox Rules to be set up

To harness the power of inbox rules and maximize efficiency, use Gmail, Outlook, or Mail. This will enable you to concentrate on the most important messages and then take care of the rest when you have time.

Example: Urgent messages are delivered to my email. If you have more time, you can also read less urgent emails.

8. Send an email sequence

Send pre-written sequences of emails to your new subscribers if using email software like ConvertKit. Get started with a great welcome email.

Example: Each week I send out a series of emails to my subscribers that highlight my best content and mention my products or services

9. Create social posts in batches, and then batch-create them

Social media is a powerful tool for creativity. It’s possible to think ahead and create content in just a few days.

Example: The middle month has mapped and created a month’s worth of social content.

10. Pre-write your client emails

Clients can be served by one perfect version of every email you send. These could include outreach emails, estimates for projects, or any other binding agreements.

Example: For years, I used the email “here’s my job” to communicate with potential clients. I only changed the name at the top and some details specific to clients. It worked perfectly!

11. Make folders for your projects

Each project has a process. This will allow you to keep your head and hard drive organized.

High-tech “complicated-but-worth-it” optimizations

Are you ready to take it up a notch? Be ready for the software! Use API-based automation in order to connect your software with other services.

Tech required:

  • Your brain
  • Software solutions are API-based
