Guide To Correctly Presenting New Website Ideas To Clients

Insights

Presenting ideas to clients became easier with the introduction of Mockup Pages.

Digital agencies can quickly discover and present new ideas to their clients using this SaaS platform.

Imagine this: You meet with a client, and their website is open in your browser. You both scroll down and up the page, exploring different ideas and sharing them. You save these ideas to a pad so that you can use them later in a team meeting.

We now change one thing. Once you’ve opened their website, open a new tab to log in to Mockup Page. There, enter the URL of your webpage. The page loads in your browser window. However, it is editable now and you can make changes to the content.

Side-by-side, you now have the current page as well as an editable copy that you can change on the fly.

Ramp Up The Engagement

This is a new level of engagement for the client. Clients can pitch in ideas and even make changes to the mockup. It is a great way to strengthen your relationship.

We’re doing much more. People can see an idea differently after they have discussed it. A mockup of an idea gives you a clear picture of what it will look like once published.

To paraphrase a great quote, “What happens on Mockup Page stays on Mockup Page.” Mockup Page does not affect the live site. Mockups can be hosted on a separate CDN.

SaaS = Easy

Mockup page‘s heart is a browser-based WYSIWYG editor that can convert URL content into an editable HTML file.

You could import Google’s homepage to play around with it, but more likely you will be importing the URL of a prospect or client and exploring ideas there. You could also use a page from your site.

Mockup Page can be used for more than just client mockups.

It was used to create this post. We felt as if we were typing directly into the DAN website as it was being created. We knew exactly how it would look when we submitted it to DAN.

We simply created another DAN post on Mockup Page, and then changed its content.

Simple UI = Ideas Get Actioned Faster

A mockup page is a desktop application that works best with Chrome or Firefox.

You can save mockups to the CDN and upload them elsewhere. What are the best parts? The best bits? Speed and ease of usage

You can set up two parameters in the UI dashboard to create a new mockup: the URL to model the page and the optional video URL if you want to embed the video on the page. You can set up YouTube, Vimeo, and MP4 videos using four icons.

Next, click the Create Mockup button to replace the dashboard with the WYSIWYG Editor. In a matter of seconds, this is filled with the URL content.

Most pages look the same as the actual page. However, you can change the content by focusing your cursor on it.

It is a WYSIWYG editor with a minimalist UI, a small toolbar, and an exit and saves button.

You can resize the video player when a video is added to the page.

There’s no programming involved. It’s as simple as clicking, drag, and dropping.

Copy & Paste

It’s simple to copy components from other websites into your mockup. This will help you produce more ideas quickly.

Let’s say that you need to add a feedback page. It is easy to locate any feedback form online. Just click on it and then copy it. Then, paste it into your mockup. You will see the feedback form immediately. The same applies to images and other HTML elements.

A webpage with all the HTML elements that you use is a good idea. These HTML elements can be copied to other mockups as needed.

What If I’m a Designer? I Like To Code…

Mockup Page was deliberately designed to be easy to use with its WYSIWYG UI. However, you can access the full source by clicking just one click.

It is done through the browsers Inspector.

You can right-click on any element to select Inspect. You can edit the source code with the built-in developer console.

It is possible to save any changes from the inspector when you use it with Mockup Pages.

The inspector can edit every part of the source so that you have complete control.

Team Collaboration? Easy.

Screen-sharing software such as Skype or AnyMeeting makes it possible to transfer control of the mockup from one person to another. This is great for both remote meetings with clients and teams located in different parts of the world.

You can also import mockups into other accounts. Let’s suppose a company has several accounts. One account for the management to explore new ideas, and two for sales consultants to present them to clients. Four of the four designers work from different accounts.

One of the sales consultants collaborated with a client on a mockup and sent the URL to the design team. One of the design team members imports and can edit the mockup.

Designer 2 can import designer 1’s mockups and edit them.

It continues until the mockup is complete. It’s then easy to put the code into production.

The Big Kahuna – Fast Client Acquisition

Perhaps Mockup Page’s greatest use is its ability to help you quickly acquire new clients.

You can import a prospect’s website into Mockup Page, change the content and create new sample pages that show your company’s vision and skills.

Although we prefer warm leads, email can still be effective with cold leads. Emails that hold intrigue for prospects can prove to be very useful. You may just be about to reveal their future.

Sending a short introduction email and a link to your mockup pages will let the prospect know you are serious. It also allows them to see what they can have if they hire you. It’s a tempting link that they can click, and it doesn’t cost anything.

Your company offers top-quality digital marketing services in Miami, so the mockups will look much better than the current company. Expect a prompt response from a prospect eager to do business with you once they have experienced that.
